Dear valued clients,
As the international trade landscape continues to evolve, it’s important for Canadian importers to stay updated. While the U.S. government recently announced a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs, Canada was not included in this suspension. The 25% retaliatory tariffs imposed by Canada on select U.S. goods remain in effect.
Current Retaliatory Tariffs Still in Effect
If you import U.S.-origin products, you may be affected by one or more of the following tariff lists:
Effective March 4, 2025 – View List of Goods
Effective March 13, 2025 – View Additional Products
Effective April 9, 2025 – View Vehicle Products List
Remission Application Process: What You Should Know
To help Canadian businesses mitigate the cost impact, the Government of Canada is offering a remission application process. This allows importers to request relief on tariffs applied to certain U.S.-origin goods.
